Changes to the Appointments System

We have carried out an audit of appointment booking ‘preference’, by asking patients who called to make an appointment “if they were able, would they have preferred to book in advance”. The results of this audit were fairly conclusive with approximately twice as many patients stating they would want to pre book rather than book on the day. As a consequence there will be a PHASED CHANGE in the ratio of pre bookable to on the day GP appointments. However the audit did illustrate that there is still considerable demand for on the day appointments and to ensure we meet this demand the majority of the nurse practitioners appointments will be bookable on the day.

UPDATING THE WEB SITE

You will see that over the next week or so we will be making several changes to the Web site due to the merger with Rectory Road, and changes and additions with the Patient Representative Group. Please bear with us if for a short time we make reference to any items that we have not yet been able to complete on other pages of the site.

Health & Well Being 'Road Shows'

We are planning a series of Health & Well Being Road Shows which will take place in various venues around the catchment area of the practices. We hope that you will take the opportunity to come along and find out the progress of changes to the Nation Health Service and the Holywell Medical Group. It is an occasion where you will be able to chat to various members of the Patient Participation Group, and give us any ideas that you may have for improving our service to you.

It is also an opportunity to come along and have a FREE HEALTH CHECK, or seek advice from the many voluntary groups who will be represented.

The first of these road shows is to take place on Thursday 21st July, from 10 am to 2 pm, at STAVELEY AND BARROW HILL COMMUNITY ROOMS.

Refreshments are available and there will be a cake stall and book stall, along with childrens activities.

Planned merger with Rectory Road Medical Centre - Staveley

We are pleased to report that the merger with Rectory Road Medical Centre is now officially complete. HOWEVER, for the time being would all patients continue to arrange appointments with their current surgeries until we have had time to combine all of the patient records.

Patient Representitive Group and new Virtual Patient Reference Group

The Holywell Medical Group patient representative group now has a separate page - please see the headings at the top of the page and go to the 'Patients Group' page where you will find several downloads available, including the minutes of the last meeting. The next meeting will be at The Grange Family Health Centre, Chesterfield on Thursday 22nd September, 2011 at 2pm.

We are also in the process of widening the consultations with our patients via a new VIRTUAL PATIENT REFERENCE GROUP (vPRG) , who will be contacted via e mail. Please take a little time to look at the new Patients Group page for further details.
